This week: Let’s revisit your 2024 goals — checking in with your progress, recommitting to the goals that matter most, and getting motivated to finish the year strong! Let’s jump in.

✋ Time for a Check-In!

We can’t believe it’s nearly May already, so we wanted to check in with you:

How are your 2024 goals coming along?

Whether or not you made any resolutions back in January, you’re probably working toward a goal or milestone this year.

If you’re on track, congrats! Take some time to celebrate your wins — and know we’re rooting for you!

And if you’re not making as much progress as you’d hoped? That’s okay, too. (And we’re still rooting for you!)

Now is the perfect time to recommit to your goals — and get back to work making them a reality.

We’ve got you covered with 3 baby steps for doing just that, plus some affirmations to motivate you!

🫡 Recommit to Your Goals in 3 Easy Steps

Feeling inspired to recommit to your 2024 goals? Do these 3 things before diving in.

🌟 1. Reflect on the goals you’ve already achieved

Look back on your past accomplishments.

What worked well for helping you achieve those goals? And how can you apply more of those things to your current goals?

What didn’t work so well? And how can you do less of these things?

🔬 2. Evaluate your current goals

Decide which goals you’re recommitting to.

It’s okay to adjust or “give up” on a goal if it no longer fits your values or the overall trajectory of your life.

With this in mind, review your current goals, and ask yourself:

  • How much progress have I made on this goal?

  • Can I realistically achieve this goal in the time I’ve set for myself?

  • Does this goal involve something that’s outside of my direct control?

Your answers will help you formulate a realistic and achievable goal. (Check out this week’s Flocus Picks for even more tips on setting clear goals!)

🤏 3. Break down big goals into small tasks

Now that you know what you want to achieve, it’s time to figure out how you’re gonna do it.

Breaking down your goals into tasks shows you exactly what you need to do to achieve them.

For example, if your goal is to graduate university, your tasks might include:

  • Study well

  • Complete all coursework

  • Pass all classes

  • Perform well on all exams

  • Ensure all university fees are paid

Keep breaking down each step into smaller tasks if you need to. Then, all that’s left to do is get to work!

Unfortunately, knowing what you need to do isn’t always helpful for actually doing it. Techniques like gamification and romanticizing your life can make your daily to-dos more fun and motivating.

Speaking of motivation, we’re sharing some words of encouragement to inspire you this month — keep scrolling for the quotes!
